Find an electronic version that you can incorporate old family photos. I bet you can find some publishing software that will fit the bill. Google it.

Does your family all have access to the internet? If so, how about “going green”, saving a few trees, and posting your recipes on line?
Just go to http://www.google.com and get an account (or if you have a gmail account already, no need), and then open a “google document”. You can make this document your recipe book, or you can make one document per recipe. In any case, you simply share the document(s) with anyone you want to share it with. You can make your family “viewers” or “editors”. If you make them editors, then they can add their recipes to yours!

Print out your recipes on your printer. Buy a 3 ring notebook and those plastic sheet protectors that have the holes for the notebook. Slip recipes into the protectors and put in the binders. Pass them out and be loved! LOL

My family has their own printed cook books. All you need, is pics of your family and all of their fav. foods, and with the ones that cook really well, they can tell you thier fav. rescipes. If it is only for family, some one may tell you their trade secrets.

you know, thats a great idea. I also like the idea of having a family reunion and giving everyone index cards for example and having all your family put their own recipes on them. Have a manila envelope ready for them to send back to you when they are done. Then when you have them sorted and possibly categorized, buy some small plain metal or wood recipe boxes ( anything that will allow your cards to stand up ) decorate the outsides with some ribbon, paints or stamps, the family name or whatever you choose. Then give as gifts. I would LOVE to have one of those. Thanks to you,I now have a new Christmas gift idea
Hey, I just thought, instead of technically categorizing, how about the index cards being in different colors. You pick the colors for each category (ex. pink for main dish ) then have them do the recipes and on the reverse if there is room, add a snapshot of the product or a funny family photo

I found this site that compiles cookbooks… it’s a little pricey ($35 per book), but it looks really professional and I like the ring binding with the ability to stap open and remove individual pages.

There are many other services like this one for publishing, but this one is my favorite so far.
If you think about how much it would cost to compile each book individually in a scrapbook, $35 each may not be a bad deal.

I am working on one at this time. I have found the best deal at… http://www.morriscookbooks.com
They will send you free software to write the book, several sample books, and all the information you need at no charge. They only charge you for the printing.
Starting prices are 200 books for $2.60 each. Prices go up depending on size, cover type, number of copies, custom art work, etc. Good luck.
